I have loved walking amidst nature and losing myself in the process to rediscover a fresh perspective. I also love the process of coaching because it also creates a similar situation as we delve deeper into the mind, challenge it and open it up. The perspectives become fresh as one drops into the heart allowing a great possibility to emerge naturally.
A deadly combination
Quest trek is a deadly combination of these two dimensions coming together. You are encountering the nakedness of nature, pure and pristine in its presentation. At the same time there is a quest of scraping off the false in you through coaching, different activities and a routine that keeps you alert and aware at all times. Nature then becomes the reflection and the perfection of your own possibility.
To be yourself
If you think about it, it makes absolute sense because you are a part of nature. During the trek I felt like bowing down to the mountains and the Rhododendron flower that blooms up in the Himalayas. I asked myself what it is that makes me want to bow down. The answer that came to me was that they are just being themselves as they are. They are just themselves and, in that simplicity, there is great wisdom and magnetism.
Nowhere to run
It is so simple that we often just miss it but when you are walking deep into the forests, just you, the trees and the chilly wind that blows in your face, you have to encounter yourself again and again. There is nowhere to run away, you can’t. There is no internet, no cell phones, no entertainment, no junk food, where canyou run away?
You will have to come face to face with yourself. With quest trek however, there are coaches who guide you through the process and allow the insights and realization to completely administer in your body and mind. Some may need grounding, being more in touch with reality while some need to break out of the realness of it all and imagine the greatest possibilities available. It entirely depends on where you are and who you are at that moment.
Theory U
“The power of attention is the real superpower of our age. Attention, aligned with intention, can make mountains move.” Otto Scharmer
The entire program is based upon a process called theory U created by Otto Scharmer. It embodies transformation at its core using the past, present and the future.
The past
The first day of the quest trek wants you to open up to your past. It wants you to observe significant events that shaped you to what you are. There could be events in the past that have made you feel hurt and misunderstood. You may need to forgive and let go. There may also be events in the pasts that allow you to know what you get inclined to naturally.
The present
The present becomes your portal that allows you to go deeper into your personality and also beyond it. The present is the door to experiencing your presence allowing a new future to emerge naturally as we drop down the U letting go of fear, cynicism and judgment.
The future
The future is now all about enacting, embodying and letting what wants to come through you. It involves a lot of planning, scheduling and taking meaningful and inspired actions.
At the end of it all, you come out as a fresh new self, embodying a magnetic energy and inspiration to manifest your inner world.
The last thing was definitely the connections I made with two very interesting dudes. One starting out exploring his highest possibility and one that has threaded through life with much vigor and vitality balancing reason and inspiration.
It was special for me not just because I became a part of this process, but I was in some ways a coach to the kids we had. These were kids who did not have a privileged childhood living in children homes with a past esteem that had made them tough but also fragile at the same time. I saw great love in them, felt my heart open as I spoke to them and gave them what I could.
