I have been working all day; I get orders from my superiors to do what needs to be done so I can get my paycheck at the end of the day. This makes me feel secure but somewhere deep inside me, I know there is a side of me that is creative, fun spontaneous just dying to express itself. Sometimes I just want to come alive and realize what I am here to do.

Courage to listen to your heart

What if I take a break from this? What if it will never work out for me? What will my parents say? What will society say? Hera yesto ramro job garda gardai chodecha. Then what about my social circle who will continue, get promoted, where will that leave me?

These doubts are rational and things to consider before making any decision but surely freezing with the doubts will lead us nowhere.

Facing Fears and Insecurity

In my own experience, I had to deal with this when I decided to shift from a job in a corporate field to start my own coaching practice which was only possible by connecting to my core values.

It had certainly been a challenging process, but I feel like every part of the system is green when I work now. This is often also called alignment which gives us the ability to perform on a high level.

Research of value alignment with goals

Rosie Kropp in her paper has been able to give us a better insight into the concept I am writing about.

A qualitative survey of 15 entrepreneurs across different nationalities, ages, and gender has been conducted to explore the importance of values and key drivers to becoming an entrepreneur.

The survey shows that values are of crucial importance when it comes to working in life and when personal and corporate values are not aligned, people take the decision to start their own value-based business

Following one’s inner values is highlighted as very important and a core driver to start a business in the survey. (Kropp, 2015)

Results

The survey shows that values are of crucial importance when it comes to working in life and when personal and corporate values are not aligned, people take the decision to start their own value-based business.

That means you enjoy the work, get productive, generate money through the process. You allow yourself to grow into the skills and master them being an expert in your field.

Taking action towards the life you want

I knew that I needed to add skills if I was going to support people in their journey, so I got certified in NLP which helped me a lot in supporting people. I have already pitched in 500 hours of coaching, helping people find their purpose and enjoy their work while contributing and making money at the same time.

This is surely not a one-day thing but a very calculated process with tools, techniques, and standards that must be maintained as we delve into your unconscious mind and the programs running in your mind.

Manage your mind or it will manage you

Think of it like this, a computer creates an output depending on the program/software it runs on. We also create outputs/results in our life depending on the program that we have created unconsciously and consciously.

It is the unconscious one like our innate beliefs, habits, self-identity that is much more challenging to work upon because we are not aware of the most of the time. This is why I say it is not a one-time thing; it is a continuous process that requires determination and effort.

Three steps you can follow to get unstuck:

  1. Asking powerful and purposeful questions: Questions have an uncanny ability to shift our focus. Just try this for an experiment, take an event where you felt emotions that did not uplift you. Ask yourself what is good about that event? Or what could be good about that event? Or what could I do differently now? Check within yourself, how you feel now? The point is not deluding you with false-positive thinking but accepting that it happened and thinking more in the realm of solution orientation.
  2. Make time for yourself every day: We have many things that we ought to do every day. Sometimes we get so occupied with them that, we forget why we began? What was the sign and intuition that allowed us to move in that direction? So whether it is early in the morning as you meditate and relax or whether working out or journaling. Make sure you make “me” time a big priority in your life.
  3. Taking little actions consistently: Sometimes we get so overwhelmed by our desire, we forget to focus on the task at hand. Our mind says you are nowhere, how will you ever reach where you want to get to. This drains and confuses us into thinking about so many strategies and may even keep us stuck. But always remember that all we need to get done is the next easiest step, whether just writing a post or calling someone. One work also brings another so make a habit of enjoying the process and doing just little but with consistency because it compounds over time.
